Stefan SB & SBM Series Modular Contactors

Stefan's SB and SBM modular contactors handle the commutation of single-phase and three-phase low-power electrical loads on standard DIN rail enclosures. Built around a compact 1–4 pole body, they switch lighting, heating, ventilation and hot-water circuits without the panel space a conventional contactor demands.

Each unit pairs with auxiliary control, protection and indication accessories, making it suited to remote-control schemes across alternative and load-managed networks — from roller-blind circuits to non-priority load-shedding.

What is the difference between the SB and SBM series?
SB units are non-manually operated for control-circuit switching only. SBM units add a manual override lever at the device for local ON/OFF control alongside remote switching.
Can a modular contactor replace a standard relay?
For higher-current loads, yes — modular contactors carry significantly more current than a typical control relay while occupying the same DIN-rail footprint.
How many poles do I need?
Single-phase loads typically use 1–2 pole units; three-phase loads require 3–4 poles, matching the number of lines being switched.
Are these contactors suitable for outdoor enclosures?
They are designed for installation inside a DIN-rail distribution board or enclosure rated for the site conditions, not for direct outdoor exposure.
